Check out the Michigan Boating Laws & Responsibilities Handbook. There are also special local Watercraft controls on 26 lakes and two lakes, which have exceptions to the State Fishing Regulations.

Anyone born after 12/31/78, MUST have a boating safety certificate to ride a personal watercraft. To obtain the Boating Safety Certificate see the class schedule.

The DNR has 22 Public Access Sites and provides on-line lake maps for 35 lakes. Fishery Resource Reports have also been completed for 11. Fish licenses may be purchased at local dealers or on-line. Check out this general listing of Lakes, Creeks and Rivers with on-line information available.

There are many Lake Associations which are valuable information resources.
