Cass County Sheriff's Office (Emergency Management Office) and the Cass Council On Aging are committed to enhancing the safety and security of the residents in Cass County.
We need your help in identifying those individuals who may experience some type of special need which may hamper their ability to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.
In 95 percent of all emergencies, the victim or bystander provides the first immediate assistance on the scene. Safety, security, and rapid response in an emergency are the responsibility and privilege that we all possess.
Do you or a loved one have a special need that may create a special risk in the time of a local emergency?
Simple power outages that extend for longer than a few hours could impair your ability to properly refrigerate medications or limit the ability to use life-saving equipment such as home oxygen systems.
You or a loved one may have hearing, visual, or mobility impairments that restrict your ability to receive important emergency messages and/or respond to damage to your home or surroundings which create additional safety concerns.
In an attempt to better serve the needs of our community, particularly during times of emergency response, the Cass County Sheriff's Office (Emergency Management Office) and the Cass COA have joined forces to create the Special Needs Database.
Residents simply fill out the Special Needs Database Form and submit to the COA. The information is then entered into a special computer database located at the Cass County E-911 Central Dispatch Center specifically designed for such use. This information is strictly confidential and only accessed by trained professionals in the Cass County E-911 Central Dispatch Center in the time of emergency. This allows Cass County trained professionals to locate these individuals in an attempt to effectively meet their special needs in a timely manner.
The Special Needs Database form is now available online, under the links, for you to download, print, complete, and mail to:
