Community Emergency Response Team

Upcoming Trainings

CERT Basic Training
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. would like to announce the upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training. Classes will begin Wednesday, January 16th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church located at 68961 Lake Street, Edwardsburg, MI. The seven week training will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will culminate on February 27th with a simulated disaster excercise and graduation.

For questions or additional CERT registration information, contact Patti Kolden at the Cass County Sheriff's Office by dialing 269-445-8644 ext. 1217 TODAY and join the ranks of the 250+ Cass County CERT volunteers who have completed the course to date.

CERT Animal Response
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood, Jr. would like to announce the upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Animal Response training. Class will take place over two consecutive Wednesday evenings, March 6th and 13th, 2013 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at the Cass County Emergency Operations Center located at 130 N. Broadway, Cassopolis, MI.

CERT supplemental training modules on Animal Response build on the CERT Basic Training course and are intended for CERT members who have completed the basic training course. Animal Response I will teach CERT members emergency preparedness for animal owners and how to recognize specific animal behaviors. Animal Response II will prepare CERT members for situations involving animals that they may encounter in performing their broader CERT response functions
